Quick set-up guide (Rack mount)

There are three items to set.

    • Main server
    • Remote control (HUD)
    • Teleport platform

Note: Base channel is a term used below. is a unique number for your system that you choose. It is also used for mathematical calculations within the script.

  1. Rez the server where you want to keep it. (Any height, even below water line)
  2. Edit the server config card which will look something like “serverConfigV1.0”
    1. Read the card and look for >>>basechannel = 202021 You can change this number to a positive or negative number. Don’t use a simple number like 1234 etc.
    2. Save your changes.
  3. Rez a Teleport.
    1. Edit the Teleport config card, and look for >>> BaseChannel = xxxx
    2. Change the number above (Item 1) to the same number you set in the server.
    3. Save the config card, and reset the Teleport.
    4. Take a copy of this teleport into your inventory,
    5. Rename the Teleport on the floor to something like…Server Teleport
  4. Wear the remote control (HUD)
    1. It should end up on the top left. Move to suit your tastes.
    2. Edit the remote and change the “Description ”  to the same number as the “Base channel” used above.
    3. Click “Reset” on the HUD menu.
  5. On the server menu, select “Clr NVram.  This clears the database of any test data.
  6. Look at the server digital feedback menu, you should see the words “Active ports 1”. If you do, all is working fine.
  7. Go to another location and lay down the teleport you saved before. Once down, Edit and rename the name field to whatever you like. Make sure the first character is upper case (Just for index sorting)
  8. After you have changed the name and reset the Teleport, You will see a yellow message above the Teleport advising the Teleport is waiting for an update. To send the data-base update, on the remote menu, select “SendToTp”. This will send updates to ALL teleports.

NOTES: Index sorting in SL is done by ascii character number sequence. Always use an uppercase letter for the first character. A number is lower than a letter.

Special characters in the first location has sorting significance. As listed below.
